The digital shift is rapidly transforming our society. More and more technology is shaping our everyday life. Information is available almost instantly, anywhere, anytime and increasingly context-related. This also applies to people’s expectations of a museum visit. At the same time tremendous opportunities open up to provide an universal access to our cultural heritage and the dormant knowledge of collections. We match the cultural mandate of museums with expectations of visitors in a sustainable and innovative way.
With the shoutr.Boxx system museums are able to provide high-quality content, including texts, video, audio, augmented reality and more, on the spot and actively involve their visitor in the exhibition. Using their own smart devices (‘bring your own device’) visitors can access the provided contextual knowledge, give feedback and share their experience with others. This way consumers and recipients become participants and the traditional museum visit is being enhanced from a unidirectional transfer of knowledge to a dialogue.
shoutr labs is pleased to advise and assist museums in designing and implementing their digital strategy. We connect modern-day people with the museum of the future.
To offer a well-suited a technical solution for business and venues, shoutr developed the shoutr.Boxx-System. As a location-based digital content distribution and point of sales system, shoutr.Boxx is able to serve high-volume data such as videos and multimedia to smartphones in vicinity: location-specific content is made available with a few metres accuracy.
