TEAM HUMBOLDT-INNOVATION

Since its foundation in 2005, the inter-disciplinary team of the Humboldt-Innovation has grown to thirteen members in the core team, while the company has approximately 100 employees in total, including the employed researchers of the running projects.

The expertise of the Humboldt-Innovation team covers a wide range of areas, including long-term professional experience in research, spin-off and marketing, as well as in many other fields.
Martin Mahn
Profile: Martin Mahn is Managing Director of Humboldt-Innovation. As a biologist and environmental economist, and as a result of his long-term experience in global industry, he has expertise in the fields of both science and business. As such, he thoroughly understands the specific challenges in knowledge and technology transfer.

Renate Ubachs
Profile: Renate Ubachs offers professional consulting and support to scientists applying for European research funding. She assists with early project preparation, offers guidance through the application process and facilitates project and financial management.

Christine Kapps
Profile: Christine Kapps is responsible for the legal execution and contractual design of research and industry-based projects, as well as managing human ressources. She studied law and draws on a wealth of perennial professional experience as syndic in a tax accountancy and auditing firm.

Jana Bolte
Profile: Jana Bolte leads the area of financial controlling, having studied Business Aministration. With broad professional experience, she ensures the cost and capacity efficiency to assure economic sustainability.

Fabian Nötzel
Profile: Fabian Nötzel leads the area of accounting. As a business administrator he is responible for the compilation of annual financial statements and reports. Furthermore he is an ERP-System expert.

Philippe Renfer
Profile: Philippe Renfer coaches start-ups and is focused on the establishment of structures and processes supporting entrepreneurs within the university. He studied Business and International Relations in St. Gallen and Paris. As an IT-Consultant he gathered professional skills in the corporate world, which have been complemented with the experience of founding his own IT start-up.

Volker Hofmann
Profile: Volker Hofmann consults entrepreneurs and scientists during their application for grant programmes (e.g. EXIST, ForMaT) and is a coach for all phases of the start-up process. He supports potential start-ups with the succesfull implementation of their ideas. Volker Hofmann graduated from the economic faculty of Humboldt-Universität.
