SPIN-OFF ZONE - Adlershof

Humboldt-Universität is establishing the support of entrepreneurs as one important pillar of technology transfer – on one hand through the activities of the Humboldt-Innovation GmbH (100% affiliate of the university), on the other hand through the BMWi and ESF funded project „Sustainable establishment of entrepreneurial culture at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin“ (EXIST-III).

In order to efficiently support entrepreneurs and to enhance and foster the development of successful Start-Ups, equipped office space – initially in Adlershof – is offered to teams with innovative ideas.

In further growth phases the resettlement of extradordinary Start-Ups in the Science and Technology Park Adlershofof is evaluated in co-operation with the WISTA and the IZBM Incubator.

Space for Entrepreneurs

On behalf of the University, Humboldt-Innovation is managing the SPIN-OFF ZONE at Campus Adlershof. The pre-incubator provides space and a creative environment to develop innovative ideas into successful business concepts.

The SPIN-OFF ZONE offers:

Workstations with telephone, internet and printer
A large conference and seminar room for appointments with investors or customers,
Hands-on training with our experts.
SPIN-OFF Lounge, facilitates and encourages residents to swap ideas in an undisturbed and creative atmosphere.

Every Thursday evening a further opportunity to come together with founding teams and interested parties is taking place in the neighbouring sports hall - the SPIN-OFF SPORT.

Application

Students, alumni (academic degree gained less than 5 years ago / graduated less than 5 years ago) and academic staff can apply for office space at any time. In order to do so, the applicants have to hand in their business idea by submitting a business plan.

For teams with the BMWi grant „EXIST-Gründerstipendium” space will be provided for the first twelve months for free, without having to pass the application process. A subsequent and longer use is possible under certain conditions. The SPIN-OFF Team guides you through the application process of the „EXIST-Gründerstipendium”.

		Anfahrt mit den öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln zur SPIN-OFF ZONE Berlin-Mitte: Vom S-Bahnhof Oranienburgerstraße (S1,S2,S25,M1,M6) erreichen Sie die SPIN-OFF ZONE Berlin-Mitte innerhalb von 3 Minuten Fußweg auf der Tucholskystraße. Die Ziegelstraße 13c befindet sich im Hinterhof des Eckhauses Tucholskystraße/Ziegelstraße 13. Vom U-Bahnhof Oranienburger Tor (U6) erreichen Sie die SPIN-OFF ZONE Berlin-Mitte in dem Sie etwa 2 Minuten auf der Friedrichstraße Richtung Ziegelstraße laufen und in diese einbiegen. Nach etwa 2 weiteren Minuten befindet sich die SPIN-OFF ZONE Berlin-Mitte im Hinterhof des letzten Eckhauses auf der rechten Straßenseite. Vom S- und U-Bahnhof Friedrichstraß (S1,S2,S5,S7,S9,S25,S75,U6) folgen Sie der Friedrichstraße etwa 5 Minuten bis zur Ziegelstraße (Höhe Friedrichstadtpalast) und biegen in die Ziegelstraße ein. Environment at the campus Adlershof

The SPIN-OFF ZONE is embedded in one of the largest technology and innovation parks in Germany. The Adlershof Campus of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin is the beating heart of the park with over 6,000 students. The university buildings offer excellent conditions in teaching and research to the Departments of Chemistry, Geography, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics and Psychology – and now in entrepreneurship, too.

On Campus Adlershof, both WISTA and IZBM, are partner for the Start-Up support. With the addition of the SPIN-OFF ZONE, the structural supply chain for spin-offs is completed for the first time. It now ranges from university pre-incubator to the “Innovations- und Gründerzentrum”, IGZ, (Innovation and Business Incubation Centre) and subsidized laboratories and office space (WISTA) to large areas for future extraordinary business expansion.
